End of Lease Carpet Cleaning Southport: Why We Come Through Last

By the time we pull up to a Southport vacate, the removalists have gone and the bond cleaner has finished. That order is deliberate. End of lease carpet cleaning in Southport works best as the very last thing that happens.

Short answer: the carpet clean and the flea treatment should be the last things that happen in a Southport vacate, after the removalists and after the bond cleaner. Booked together they run as one visit with one receipt for your agent. To be clear about scope: this is the carpet and pest part of a rental exit, not a whole-property bond clean.

A first time customer, keys about to go back

The photo is from a recent Southport job. A first time customer had just moved out, the property was empty, and we were the last trade through the door. That was not a scheduling accident. It is how a vacate should run.

The kit in the shot is the backpack sprayer used for the flea treatment, sitting on the hard floor with the carpeted room through the doorway. Both jobs, one visit.

Why carpet and pest go last

Work backwards through a vacate and the reason is obvious. Removalists come first, and furniture dragged out across carpet undoes anything done before it. The bond cleaner comes next and works top down, dust off the ceiling fans, then benches, then skirtings, finishing on the floors.

Every one of those steps puts something back on the carpet. Clean the carpet first and all you have achieved is a clean carpet on the day nobody is looking at it. Clean it last and the carpet the agent walks in on is the carpet we left.

There is a second reason on flea jobs. Treated carpet should be left alone. If other trades are still coming and going afterwards, it gets walked through before it has settled.

The flea treatment, and who is allowed to do it

Where a lease requires a flea treatment at vacate, and plenty of Queensland leases do where pets have been kept, it has to be done by a licensed technician for the paperwork to hold up. That licence applies to the pest side only. Carpet cleaning needs no licence, and we do not pretend it does.

Worth knowing before you panic in week two: fleas can appear to get worse for a short period after a treatment. Eggs already in the carpet keep hatching, and the newly hatched fleas meet the treatment. That is the treatment working, not failing. It is also why fleas carry no warranty from us, which we would rather state plainly than bury.

Got questions? Straight answers below. Or skip ahead:

The receipt is the actual deliverable

Most people booking a rental exit clean are not really buying clean carpet. They are buying evidence. An itemised receipt showing the carpet was professionally cleaned and, where required, that a licensed flea treatment was carried out, is what an agent wants attached to the exit condition report.

One receipt covering both is simpler for you, and harder to argue with, than two receipts from two trades on two different days.

What this does not cover

This is the carpet cleaning and pest control side of a rental exit. It is not a bond clean. Kitchens, ovens, bathrooms, windows, walls and the rest of the property belong to your bond cleaner, and if you book us expecting all of that you will be short at inspection.

We would rather lose a booking than let someone assume otherwise. The two trades work well together, and most tenants use both.

End of lease carpet cleaning Southport: what it costs

The number follows the property. How many carpeted rooms, what condition they are in, and whether a flea treatment forms part of the job. A one bedroom unit with tidy carpet and no pets is a long way from a four bedroom house that has had a dog in it for three years.

The minimum call-out fee is $145 plus GST, the same across the whole Gold Coast to Tweed Heads area, Southport included. Give us the property size, a rough idea of the carpet's condition, and whether the lease asks for a flea treatment. You will get an estimate. Estimate, not quote, because we do not know what is under the furniture until the furniture is gone.

Frequently asked questions

Do you do end of lease carpet cleaning in Southport?
Yes. Southport is part of the standard run and sits well inside the Gold Coast to Tweed Heads service area. The carpet clean and a flea treatment can be booked into the same visit.
Why should the carpet clean be the last thing done?
Because everything before it puts dirt back on the floor. Removalists drag furniture out, and the bond cleaner works top down and finishes on the floors. Clean the carpet first and all of that lands on it, which is what the agent then walks in on.
Does my lease actually require a flea treatment?
Many Queensland leases require one where pets have been kept, and some agents ask for it regardless. Check your agreement and your exit condition report. Where it is required, it has to be carried out by a licensed technician for the receipt to count.
Do I get a receipt for the agent?
Yes, itemised, showing what was treated and when. Hand it to the agent or attach it to your exit condition report. That piece of paper is usually the whole reason the job gets booked.
Is this a bond clean?
No, and it is worth being clear about it. We handle the carpet cleaning and the pest side. Kitchens, ovens, bathrooms, windows and walls belong to your bond cleaner. Booking us does not cover those, and we would rather say so now than have you find out at the inspection.
Can the carpet clean and the flea treatment happen on the same day?
Yes, and it is the sensible way to do it. One visit, one call-out, one receipt, and the two are done in the right order so nobody walks across treated carpet before the final inspection.
What does an end of lease carpet clean in Southport cost?
It follows the number of carpeted rooms, the condition they are in, and whether a flea treatment is part of it. The minimum call-out fee is $145 plus GST. Give us the property size and tell us whether the lease asks for a flea treatment, and you will have an estimate before we start.
