Common household allergy triggers
Dust mites, pollen, pet dander and pest related debris are among the most common household allergy triggers, and carpet is one of the main places they collect and build up over time.
How pests make carpet allergens worse
An active pest presence, whether it is cockroaches, rodents or fleas, adds droppings and shed skin into the mix, on top of the dust mites and dander already there. This can make an existing allergy problem noticeably worse.
What actually helps, not what just masks it
Masking products and surface treatments only cover the problem temporarily. Proper extraction cleaning removes allergens from carpet fibres, and appropriate pest treatment addresses the source rather than covering the symptom.
When to address both at once
If allergy symptoms are ongoing and there is any sign of pest activity in the home, it is worth having both assessed together rather than treating carpet and pests as separate, unrelated problems.
