Short answer: yes, and repeat visits to the same homes make up a good share of our Mudgeeraba work. This was our third clean for a 94 year old customer who has had us back for years. Her cat had had accidents on the carpet over time, so the job was an antibacterial enzyme treatment through the affected areas, a truck mounted rinse, and a quick dry agent so she came home to carpet she could walk straight onto.

Third visit, and a key sorted through a neighbour

This customer has had us back three times now. She is 94, a regular of ours for years, and she was out at morning tea while we worked, so access was arranged through a neighbour who let us in. A small detail, but a fair picture of how a lot of repeat work actually runs. People who have used us before generally do not feel any need to be home supervising.

The visit was timed around her morning tea on purpose, so the work happened while she was out rather than with her sitting in the middle of it.

Cleaning up after a cat

The carpet had accident marks from her cat, which she had recently lost. At 94, that cat was her family. Getting the carpet properly seen to mattered to her for reasons that had very little to do with carpet, and that is worth saying rather than skipping past.

Cat accidents get an antibacterial enzyme treatment. Enzyme treatment breaks down the organic matter causing both the mark and the smell, rather than covering it over and hoping. Where soiling is heavier or has been sitting a long time, an antimicrobial enzyme treatment is used instead. The one thing you do not do on a job like this is go at it with hot water or steam first, because heat can set an acidic stain and make it permanent. Treatment first, then truck mounted extraction to rinse it out.

A quick dry agent, so she came home to dry carpet

A quick dry agent went through as part of the clean, followed by a truck mounted rinse. Truck mounted extraction pulls far more moisture back out of the carpet than a portable machine can manage, so it is already most of the way dry by the time we drive off. For someone coming home the same day, that is the difference between carpet you can use and carpet you have to tiptoe around.

How often carpet actually needs doing

The general guide is every 12 months for most homes, and every 6 to 9 months where there are pets, young children, or someone in the house with allergies. Heavy foot traffic shortens it again. A home with a cat having accidents sits at the shorter end, which is roughly where this customer has landed on her own, without anyone selling her a schedule.

What carpet cleaning in Mudgeeraba costs

Cost follows the job rather than a fixed menu. The number of rooms, how soiled the carpet is, and whether any area needs enzyme treatment rather than a standard clean all change it, as does how easily the van can get to the property. The minimum call-out fee stays the same everywhere: $145 plus GST across the whole Gold Coast to Tweed Heads area, Mudgeeraba included. We give you an estimate after seeing the carpet, not a number guessed over the phone.

Frequently asked questions

Do you clean carpets in Mudgeeraba?
Yes. Mudgeeraba is a regular part of our run and a lot of that work is repeat visits to the same homes. It gets the same truck mounted extraction, the same honest estimate and the same technician as anywhere else we work.
Can you get cat urine out of carpet?
In most cases a great deal of it, yes, using an antibacterial enzyme treatment that breaks down the organic matter causing the mark and the smell. Heavier or older soiling gets an antimicrobial enzyme treatment. Where it has soaked through to the underlay, some marking can be permanent, and we will tell you that honestly rather than promise a perfect result.
Do I need to be home while you clean the carpets?
No. Plenty of our repeat customers arrange access another way, through a neighbour, a key or a family member, and go about their day. On this Mudgeeraba job the customer was out at morning tea while we worked.
How long will the carpet take to dry?
A few hours to the same day in most homes. A quick dry agent and truck mounted extraction pull most of the moisture back out before we leave, so it is usually walkable well before it is fully dry. Humidity and airflow on the day change the exact timing.
How often should carpets be professionally cleaned?
Around every 12 months for most homes, and every 6 to 9 months with pets, young children or allergies in the house. Heavy foot traffic shortens it further.
Are the treatments safe around pets and children?
Yes. The products we use for carpet cleaning are family and pet safe when used as intended. We will always tell you if an area needs to stay clear for a while before normal use.
What does carpet cleaning in Mudgeeraba cost?
It depends on the number of rooms, the condition of the carpet, and whether any area needs enzyme treatment. The minimum call-out fee is $145 plus GST anywhere from Gold Coast to Tweed Heads, with an honest estimate before we start.
