Before the technician arrives
A little preparation helps the day run smoothly: clearing small items off the floor, pointing out any specific marks, and making sure there is clear access for the van and hose run to the truck mounted unit.
Pre-inspection and pre-treatment
The technician walks the property first, identifies problem areas like traffic lanes or specific stains, and applies targeted pre-treatment product to those spots before the main clean begins.
The extraction clean itself
Truck mounted extraction cleans the carpet with hot water and cleaning solution under pressure, then immediately extracts it back out, along with the dirt and residue it has lifted. This is what people usually mean by steam cleaning, even though it is not literally steam.
Drying and the final walk-through
After the clean, the technician talks through expected drying time based on the room, the weather and airflow, and does a final walk-through so you know exactly what to expect before they leave.
