The suction power gap
Truck mounted units run on far more power than a machine you can hire and carry into the house. That gap in suction and extraction power is the main reason results differ so much between the two.
Why more water left behind is a problem
A rental shampooer that leaves more moisture in the carpet than it removes means longer drying time, and on the Gold Coast's humid days, that extra moisture has fewer chances to evaporate quickly.
Residue and re-soiling
Weaker extraction often leaves more cleaning product residue behind in the fibres. That residue can actually attract more dirt over time, meaning the carpet can look soiled again sooner than it should.
